Kolkata: In yet another terrible incidence, a guy is said to have been murdered by his buddies at a drinking party on suspicion of stealing a cell phone. According to reports, the event happened on Monday in Kolkata’s Salt Lake neighbourhood.
After the alleged encounter, according to the police, one of the suspects was taken into custody while the other two are still at large. Raju Mal has been named as the victim by police, according to The Times of India.
Sources claim that Mal was partying with his friends in Salt Lake City’s Nayapatti Bazar neighbourhood. One of the suspects asserted that he was unable to locate his phone and believed Mal had taken it.
Mal refuted the allegations, but when his buddies started pressuring him, a fight broke out, according to TOI.
When one of the accused reportedly hit Mal in the chest, Mal collapsed and passed out. Mal did not stand up or make any noise, so his friends and the locals hurried him to the hospital out of concern. According to reports, the medical staff at the Bidhannagar sub-divisional hospital declared Mal dead when he arrived.
Members of Mal’s family reported the incident to the police at the Electronic Complex. According to an officer, they have submitted his body for an autopsy and are attempting to determine the precise cause of the alleged brawl.
