Mumbai on High Alert (Ashwin Pandey): Tension is increasing in the entire country regarding the so-called controversial statement on Prophet Muhammad. Security agencies are on alert mode after al-Qaeda (AQIS) issued warnings of suicide bombings in several cities of the country to avenge insults to Prophet Muhammad. Maharashtra is on high alert regarding Al Qaeda.
Terrorist conspiracy alert in Mumbai
Conspiracy alert has been issued regarding some places of Maharashtra including Mumbai. On the lines of Kanpur, some anti-social elements can carry out a stone-pelting conspiracy. Taking this seriously, the Maharashtra government has decided that the sensitive areas will be monitored by drone cameras on the possibility of stone-bottle attacks. The Home Ministry will soon hold a meeting regarding this, in which the top police officers of the state and the secretaries of the ministry will also be involved.
Government alert after al-Qaeda threat
The AQIS had issued a threatening letter on June 6, stating that it would launch suicide attacks in Delhi, Mumbai, Uttar Pradesh and Gujarat to ‘fight for the honor of the Prophet’. After this threat, all the states are on high alert. The letter said that saffron terrorists should now wait for their end in Delhi, Bombay, UP and Gujarat. This is the first time that al-Qaeda has issued threats by naming specific cities.
Central agencies are monitoring
Central agencies have asked all concerned state police forces to be on high alert after verifying the threat letter. Let us inform that after the statement of former BJP spokesperson Nupur Sharma on Prophet Muhammad, many terrorist organizations have issued threatening letters. There is massive outrage about this. There have even been reactions from Muslim countries. On the other hand, Nupur Sharma has also alleged that she is getting threats after the Delhi Police decided to provide her security.
