In the Vellore region of Tamil Nadu, a 44-year-old father was detained for sexually abusing his 13-year-old daughter for the previous 10 months and getting her pregnant. The victim, a student in Class 8, gave birth to a child on Tuesday.
A 44-year-old man was detained by police in Tamil Nadu’s Vellore district for frequently sexually assaulting his daughter, 13, over the course of ten months and getting her pregnant.
When the girl, a student in Class 8 at a government school, complained of stomach troubles, the horrifying incidence was discovered. Her relatives brought her to the Government Vellore Medical College, where the diagnosing physician told them she was pregnant.
Tuesday, August 2 saw the birth of a boy by the woman. The medical team reported the event to the child welfare committee, who then complained to the Vellore all-women police.
The authorities investigating the case learned from interviewing the little girl that she had been sexually raped by her father for the previous 10 months.
The girl’s parents were split up, according to a report by The Times of India. She shared a home with her grandparents with her brother. Every day the child went to see her father to bring him meals that her grandmother had prepared.
The girl confessed to the investigators that anytime she went to her father to bring him food, he would sexually attack her. She added that her father had vowed to punish her severely if she told anyone about it.
Based on this, police arrested the man and produced him before a judicial magistrate. He was remanded to police custody. He was arrested by the Vellore all-women police and booked under various sections of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences (POCSO) Act and a section of the Indian Penal Code.
