Terror Funding Case: The debate on the sentence of Kashmiri separatist leader Yasin Malik has been completed in the special NIA court today. The court will announce the punishment in some time. According to the information, during this debate Yasin Malik told the court that, ‘I will not beg you to punish you whatever you think is right.’
In fact, in the sections in which Yasin Malik has been convicted, there is a provision of maximum death sentence or at least life imprisonment, on which the NIA court will pronounce the sentence after sometime from now. Let me tell you, in the court, Yasin told the judge that, since the announcement of killing Burhan Wani, I have been in jail continuously, so how are these allegations made against me? To which the court said that now is not the time. At the same time, Yasin replied to this and said, ‘I will not beg you to punish you whatever you think is right, but do see if there is any such evidence that I have supported terrorists?
In fact, charges were framed against Yasin Malik under sections of criminal conspiracy, indulging in illegal activities including waging war against the country and disturbing the peace of Kashmir. Yasin Malik had also accepted these allegations before the court, after which on May 19, the court convicted Yasin Malik.

NIA special court against Yasin Malik Section-16 (involving in terrorist activity), Section-17 (raising funds for terrorist activities), Section-18 (conspiracy to commit terrorist act), Section 20 (Terrorist Being a member of a group or organization) and under sections 120B i.e. criminal conspiracy, 124A i.e. sedition and other sections of the IPC. During the last hearing itself, Yasin Malik had accepted these charges framed by the court in front of the court and refused to contest the case in this case.
Apart from Yasin, charges have been framed against these separatist leaders
Apart from Yasin Malik, the court also ordered Shabir Shah, Masarat Alam, Farooq Ahmed Dar alias Bitta Karate, Mohammad Akbar Khande, Raja Mehrajuddin Kalwal, Bashir Ahmed Bhatt, Mohammad Yusuf Shah, Aftab Ahmed Shah, Altaf Ahmed Shah, Naeem Khan, Zahoor Ahmed Shah Watali. These charges were framed against other Kashmiri separatist leaders including Shabbir Ahmed Shah, Abdul Rashid Sheikh. Lashkar-e-Taiba founder Hafiz Saeed and Hizbul Mujahideen chief Syed Salahuddin were also named in the chargesheet filed by the investigating agency.
