Kolkata: The rain will not stop for the time being in wide areas of South and North Bengal including Kolkata, the capital of West Bengal. After the cyclone has passed over the coastal areas, low pressure is maintained. Due to this, heavy rain is expected in the capital Kolkata as well as Alipurduar, Cooch Behar, Jalpaiguri, Darjeeling, and Kalimpong in North Bengal including Howrah, Hooghly, North and South 24 Parganas, East and West Medinipur, Purulia, Bankura.
The Meteorological Department has said that the wind will blow at a speed of 30 to 40 kilometers per hour.
People should not come out of their homes without any reason. Here the temperature has dropped due to continuous rain for the last one week. Capital Kolkata recorded a maximum temperature of 34.2 degrees Celsius on Saturday. It was one degree below normal, while the minimum temperature was also just 23.2 degrees Celsius, which is three degrees Celsius below normal.
The capital Kolkata has recorded 12.1 mm of rain during the last 24 hours. The Meteorological Department has said that at present, similar weather will prevail till the weekend.
