Chhattisgarh cabinet minister TS Singhdeo resigned from the Panchayat and Rural Development Department on Saturday. Singhdeo had written a four-page letter to Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel alleging interference in the department. It is being told that after the resignation of Singhdev, internal discord has started once again in Chhattisgarh Congress. At the same time, CM Baghel also tried to talk to Singhdev, but could not talk to him.
Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel said that he tried to talk to Cabinet Minister TS Singhdev on the phone late on Saturday night, but he could not be contacted.
In his resignation given at 6 pm on Saturday, the former Panchayat Minister claimed that Chief Secretary Amitabh Jain had constituted a committee of secretaries under the Mukhyamantri Samagra Gramin Vikas Yojna, who were doing arbitrariness in the department. Final approval was being given to all the projects from this committee itself.
What was written in the resignation of TS Singhdev?
“Housing was to be provided to the homeless people of the state under the Pradhan Mantri Awas Yojana, for which I discussed with you many times and requested for the budget, but the amount could not be made available for the scheme. Thus 8 lakh people of the state could not get the benefit of this scheme. It would have improved the state’s economy of about 10 thousand crores. It is noteworthy that not a single house could be constructed for the homeless people during the tenure of the present government.”
‘More than 500 crore work was not done’
“After the approval of the minister, a process was done by the committee of the chief secretary to take the final decision, which is contrary to the protocol. I have lodged objections in writing from time to time, but till date the system has not improved. Due to which development work of more than Rs 500 crore could not be done as per the suggestion of ministers, MLAs and public representatives. Even at present, many development works have not started in panchayats.
discord between two giants
What TS Singh wrote in the resignation shows that the squabbles in the state unit have not yet calmed down. It is increasing with the passage of time. The growing discord between the two stalwarts of the state has not been resolved even by the Congress high command. Sources also say that TS Singhdev wants to become the Chief Minister of the state and for this he has held several meetings with Rahul and Priyanka Gandhi. Last year, TS Singh also got his MLAs paraded in Delhi to get his point across. However, no consensus could be reached. Unfortunately, in the end, most of the people of the state lose because all the losses are theirs.
