New Delhi: On not getting permission from the Center to go to Singapore for the World City Conference, CM Arvind Kejriwal said that I am not a criminal, I am an elected Chief Minister. Why I am being stopped from going to Singapore is beyond my understanding. CM Arvind Kejriwal cast his vote in the Delhi Assembly on Monday regarding the election for the next President of the country and said that I hope that the country will get the right and good President. Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal on Sunday wrote to the Prime Minister seeking permission to attend the World City Summit in Singapore.
CM Arvind Kejriwal said that obviously politics is happening. Apart from this, no other reason is visible legally. It is not that the court has stayed my departure. I have committed some crime. There is no restriction of any kind. Even a common citizen is free to go out of the country. Then why the elected Chief Minister cannot go. Ever since I became the Chief Minister, I have done only one or two foreign visits. When there is talk of the country, the name of the country is going to be illuminated, there is talk of progress of the country. Then I feel that we should leave our party politics and talk about the progress of the country unitedly.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Kejriwal along with all the ministers and MLAs voted in the Delhi Assembly in the elections to choose the next President of the country. After casting his vote, Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal said that there is an election to choose the next new President of the country. All voters MP and MLA are casting their votes. I have cast my vote. I hope the country will get the right and good President.
CM Arvind Kejriwal said that the imposition of GST on food items by the central government is very sad. On one hand, the whole country is battling inflation. There has been a lot of inflation in the whole country. On the other hand, the central government has made it more expensive by imposing tax on food items. I will demand from the central government that the GST imposed on these food items should be withdrawn.
The CM said that today Delhi is the only state in the country where we are giving some relief to the common citizen from inflation. The education of their children is free and well done. Treatment of all people is free and good. Everyone’s electricity has been made free. Everyone’s water has been made free. Women have been made free to travel in buses. In Delhi, yoga is being taught for free and pilgrimage is being done free of cost. If we add all these things together, then every family is benefiting at least 10 to 15 thousand rupees every month. In the time of so much inflation, it is the Delhi government which is giving some relief to its people from inflation. I will request the central government that it is not right to impose GST on food and drink. It should be taken back.
