Maharashtra Political Crisis: The political struggle in Maharashtra continued for the whole day yesterday. After the rebellious attitude of Shiv Sena leader Eknath Shinde, CM Uddhav Thackeray has left the official residence ‘Varsha’ (Varsha Bungalow) taking a big decision. Late on Wednesday night, his belongings were shifted from the government residence to Matoshree. At the same time, there was a round of meetings there throughout the day before leaving the house. After which Thackeray addressed the people of the state through a Facebook Live. During his address, Thackeray said while playing the emotional card that if any MLA of Shiv Sena tells me, I will resign from the chief minister’s post but no one should cheat with me.
However, this is not the first time in the politics of Maharashtra that the party has to go through such a situation. In July 1992, almost two decades ago, the scene within Shiv Sena was similar. At that time Shiv Sena supremo Balasaheb Thackeray had also publicly spoken about leaving the party. At the same time, after two decades, Shiv Sena is once again going through the same situation and Balasaheb’s son Uddhav Thackeray is also seen following the path of his father. Like his father, Thackeray also agreed to resign at the behest of Shiv Sainiks.
At that time, Balasaheb Thackeray had written in the party mouthpiece Saamana after the announcement of his resignation, ‘If even a single Shiv Sainik belonging to my party comes in front of him and says that I left the party because of you or you hurt us, then I will be the one. Doesn’t want to remain the party chief even for a minute.”
At that time, the effect of this article of Balasaheb Thackeray was that lakhs of Shiv Sainiks came down in his support. However, the interesting thing is that after 20 years, once again history has been repeated and Uddhav has once again played a similar bet. The only difference between the two developments is that Bala Thackeray took the help of articles to convey his message to the public and Uddhav took the help of social media.

Uddhav said in Facebook Live on Wednesday that I am sad that if Congress and NCP say that Uddhav Thackeray does not want CM, then he could have understood. My people are now saying that I am ready to resign immediately. He said that I am ready to resign. Why did Eknath Shinde need to go to Surat? I think the posts keep coming and going.
Uddhav said that I am ready to leave the post of Chief Minister, but I will be happy if only a Shiv Sainik becomes the Chief Minister. I have no desire to be on the post of CM, our love will remain. This is not my play. Whoever has the highest number wins. How many people consider me as their own and vote against me, then it is a shameful thing for me. I have no desire to continue on the post of Chief Minister.
