Article 370 of the Constitution, which gave the status of an independent state to Jammu and Kashmir, was removed by the central government in 2019. Two years after the decision to abrogate Article 370, now a cricket tournament is being organized in Gujarat with the same name. The cricket tournament will be held in the Gandhinagar LokSabha area of Union Home Minister Amit Shah. BJP’s Gandhinagar Lok Sabha constituency in-charge Harshad Patel has said that the tournament was organized in the name of Article 370 to attract more young voters towards the BJP. The tournament will be played in December.
Cricket and Kabaddi to attract voters!
GLPL 370 stands for Gandhinagar Lok Sabha Premier League 370. Patel told The Indian Express, “The tournament is being organized to attract young voters to the BJP. Cricket and Kabaddi have been chosen for this. The target is to have at least one cricket and one kabaddi team in each ward of the constituency.
Amit Shah’s idea!
According to Harshad Patel, the idea of the cricket tournament was mooted by Union Home Minister Amit Shah. Home Minister Amit Shah first discussed the idea with some party members. After that, a meeting of about 200 to 250 workers was organized and everyone was given due responsibility.
How will the tournament be?
Minister of State for Gujarat Jagdish Vishwakarma, who hosted the Karnavati Premier League in Gandhinagar five years ago, has been given the responsibility of organizing the entire tournament. There will be one Kabaddi tournament for the entire Gandhinagar constituency and seven cricket tournaments for each of the seven divisions. Currently, the tournament is open to men only.
