NEW DELHI: From 1 September, there will be no concessions on the liquors. August was a great venture with a bumper of amazing deals and discounts for all liquor consumers. From September 1, when government-run liquor stores begin operations , the retailers have to sell their liquor on a fixed price with no discounts, and also violation and any kind of disobey will automatically lead to the cancellation of the license.
With an ante of clearing stocks in the last week of July, the vendors offered huge discounts before the government announced the extension of the 2021-22 policy. Under the excise policy of 2021-22, the AAP government retailers to offer discount on MRP to attract consumers.
All liquor stores will have to install CCTV cameras along with digital display boards where the latest stock availability and MRP is mentioned for the convenience of consumers, said an official. The number of ‘dry days’ will also go up from September 1 as the shops will remain closed on religious festivals.
