Good Governance Index 2021: Every year in all the states of the country, their list has been prepared by the central government according to the quality of administration. Union Home Minister Amit Shah unveiled the list on Saturday, 25 December. The states in this list are ranked according to the best administration in the country. The list has been announced on the occasion of Good Governance Day.
According to the list, over 20 states have improved their GGI, or Good Governance Index, in the last year. As per the list, Gujarat has registered a growth of 12.3 percent in 2019 as compared to the previous year. It mentions excellent performance in the areas of economic administration, manpower development, public facilities, social welfare and development, the justice system, social security.
10 sectors and 58 indices!
A total of 10 areas and 58 of them are screened by the Center to make this list. The Center has declared that Gujarat has performed well in all these 58 indices. The 10 areas to be examined are agriculture and allied business, trade and industry, manpower development, public health, public facilities, financial administration, social welfare, judiciary, public safety, environment, and citizen-centered administration.
Gujarat is followed by Maharashtra at number two and Goa at number three. Out of these 10, Maharashtra has recorded good governance in agriculture and allied businesses, manpower development, public facilities, social welfare, and development. Like Gujarat, the capital Delhi tops the list of union territories.
Goa’s big jump
Goa is at number three after Maharashtra. Goa has made a big jump this year with a growth of 24.7 percent as compared to last year. The state of Goa has performed well in the areas of agriculture and allied professions, trade and industry, public facilities, financial administration, social welfare, and the environment.
Goa is followed by Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Rajasthan, Mizoram, and Jammu and Kashmir.
