The Calcutta High Court on Tuesday sacked Suvendu Adhikari, leader of the opposition in the state assembly, from a three-member committee constituted on January 7 to oversee the compliance of COVID-19 restrictions at the Gangasagar Mela in Sagar Island. The Trinamool Congress-led West Bengal government had objected to the inclusion of Bharatiya Janata Party leader Suvendu Adhikari in the committee.
